What is fluff?

Fluff is jargon in ‘training speak’ for extra words that we add to our blogs, emails and other forms of writing, that do not contribute to the overall information being conveyed. Fluff adds no value and contributes only to the noise and clutter already present online. Extra paragraphs that repeat an idea is fluff.

Those phrases like ” As you may well know, Having known the reason, As you are aware, What I mean to say is, What I am trying to say is ”  and such, is fluff.

Words and phrases that pollute the content that you write, is fluff.

Thumb rule to remember – When you write, make your words count.

I challenge you to identify a piece of content that you have written in the past that does not contain fluff!
